This year was no different from the many years that have come before it. There were new faces and new dishes, but it was the same old tradition. A good ol’ fashioned Thanksgiving Potluck. The Agents and employees were asked to bring their favorite holiday dishes to share with everyone at the office. This year did not disappoint!
Below are just ten of the amazing side dished we all indulged our taste buds with. There were also desserts, which will also be on the list! From all of us at Verbode to all of you, Happy Thanksgiving! We are Thankful for all of you!
10. Deviled Eggs
It doesn’t get better than a large plate of deviled eggs. A staple at most holiday potluck meals, you can’t really go wrong with this tasty side dish! Finished with a slight dusting of paprika this is the taste that brings back memories!
9. Cheese Ball and Crackers
Start the potluck off right with this appetizer. Conversation will start soon after and everyone will find themselves going back for seconds. This year it was blended with pineapple and dry salami. So delicious!
8. Mixed Cakes from Brown’s Bakery
You can always tell those with the sweetest tooth. They will always bring an assortment of treats. This year we were blessed with Brown’s Bakery cakes. The choice is hard, but the reward is always worth it.
7. Rolls with Butter and Honey
Rolls are so essential to a holiday potluck meal, that most grocery stores have the ready at the front door. All a roll needs is a little butter and some honey or jam. You can also make small sandwiches with the left over turkey for lunch the next day.
6. Mashed Potatoes
Everyone remembers the big pot of mashed potatoes they had at every holiday meal. If you are like most of us, you mix it with everything else on your plate. Basically just making your own casserole on your plate.
5. Lemon Squares
It is like having dessert without it feeling like dessert. The tasty mix of lemons, cake and sugar. It is a treat for those who do not want to indulge too much.
4. Brussels Sprout Chips
A dish that went very fast. I suggest this to anyone on the fence about Brussels Sprouts. The seasoning is savory with a hint of spice. They are roasted as single leaves for seven to ten minutes until crispy. It is also a fun way to trick the kids into eating their greens.
3. Green Bean Casserole
If you haven’t had a green bean casserole, you need to before you die. For those people who didn’t want to eat their green beans when they were little, look up a recipe for green bean casserole. It will change your mind about green beans!
2. Brussel Sprout Au Gratin
For some this was a new dish, but it quickly became a favorite. A large skillet filled with Brussels sprouts smothered in cheese. Baked in an oven to soften the sprouts and melt the cheese. It is amazing!
